Don't take our word for it. Run any network monitor while Statusong is on. Lyrics come
from the community-run lrclib.net. With Pro on Discord, the album cover comes from
Apple's public search (only the song and artist name are sent). Everything else stays on your PC.

Questions people actually ask
What is Pro+?
Pro+ (coming soon) is Pro with two extras: you get every new version first (an early-access channel, before it goes out to everyone), and a Pro+ role in our Discord server where you can chat with us and vote on what gets built next. It is a one-time payment, like Pro.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can download Statusong, listen on Spotify and watch the synced lyrics in the app for free, with nothing to set up. Pro ($7, once) puts the lyric on your Discord profile and adds the look: word-by-word glow, the 19 word effects, the lyrics-only view, backgrounds, and text size & position.
How do I connect Discord?
Unlock Pro, then Statusong asks if it may show your lyrics on Discord and guides you: 1) open the Discord desktop app; 2) in Discord go to User Settings → Activity Privacy and turn on "Share my detected activity with others"; 3) don't be set to Invisible. Press Allow, and a test card appears on your profile. You can turn it off any time.
How do I get my Pro code?
It is emailed to you right after you pay. Open Statusong, tap any Pro feature (or "Unlock"), choose "I already have a key" and paste it. No email? Contact us on Discord and we'll send it again.
What do you know about me?
Nothing from them. Statusong runs on your PC and we never receive your Discord or Spotify details, your tokens, or what you listen to. If you sign in on this site (with Google or Discord) we know the name and email of that account, and — only if you opt in — an anonymous "installed" ping with no personal data.
Does my PC have to stay on?
Yes. Statusong runs on your own machine, not in the cloud. If the PC sleeps, the status stops updating.
What if a song has no synced lyrics?
It falls back to showing the track and artist, then picks the lyrics back up on the next song that has them.
Do I need Spotify Premium?
No. Free accounts work — we only read what's playing, using the Spotify desktop app.
Will the lyrics be out of sync?
They follow the song's own clock, so they stay on the beat. If one song's lyrics are a little off, that comes from the lyric source for that track.
Mac or Linux?
Windows only for now. It reads what Spotify is playing from Windows itself.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 7 days of buying, message us on Discord with the email you bought with, and we'll refund you in full. No argument.
