Apple Music + Discord

Apple Music lyrics on Discord

Apple Music has lyrics inside its own app, but your Discord friends cannot see them. Statusong takes the line that is playing and shows it on your Discord profile as you listen on Windows.

How it works

Statusong does not log in to Apple Music. It reads the currently playing song from Windows’ media controls, the same place that powers the volume pop-up, so any player that reports to Windows can work, including Apple Music for Windows and iTunes.

Lyrics come from the LRCLIB database, matched by song, artist and length, so they line up with the version you are playing.

Choose your player once

In Statusong’s setup, pick Apple Music or iTunes from the player list. Players other than Spotify are marked beta while they get more testing, so tell us if a song does not match.

On Discord

With Pro, your profile shows a "Listening to Statusong" card with the song, the artist and the current lyric. Keep the Discord desktop app open and allow it the first time.

Questions

Does it work with Apple Music on Mac?

Not yet. Statusong is for Windows 10 and 11.

Does it work with YouTube Music or other browser players?

Yes, when the browser reports the song to Windows’ media controls, which Chrome and Edge do for most music sites. This is marked beta.
